Verify your identity

Findigs uses Footprint to verify your identification - it is safe, secure and easy! Verifying your ID through Footprint must be completed on the same device - you can't save and come back mid-verification.

You can always log out of one device and log into the other for before verification step if you need, as your other application information is saved.

The identity verification portion will begin after you've entered the information for your credit check.

Before you start

Make sure you're in a well-lit location and gather the following materials:

• Your ID
• A mobile phone or computer with a camera.

Enter your basic identity information

To start the verification process, you'll need to provide some basic information. Make sure you can reference your official ID to confirm your name exactly as it appears there.

1. Select Start verification.
2. A verification code will be sent to your Findigs account email. Once you receive it, enter the numbers into the verification box.

3. Fill in your basic data as it appears on your legal ID. Your first and last name will be pre-filled, but make sure to adjust your name (and add a middle one) to appear exactly as they do on your ID. Select Continue.

4. Enter your legal address - the same one you use for taxes or other legal documentation. As you type, the address field will provide a list of official addresses to help you pre-fill the form.

5. Enter your social security number and select Continue.

   If you don't have a SSN, select I don't have a Social Security Number at the bottom - confirm the selection, and proceed with the verification process as prompted.

6. Confirm all the information you entered. Select Edit next to each section to update information as needed and select Confirm and continue to proceed.

Upload your ID

Now you'll need to verify your identification documents. This is a safe and secure method to confirm your identity, and will enable the property manager to review your application efficiently.

1. Select the ID you'll upload from the list of accepted documents - make sure to scroll down to see all the options.

2. Consent to use your images to confirm your identity - scroll to the bottom of the text so you can click Agree and continue. 

3. Upload images of your ID. Most IDs require images of both front and back - just follow the prompts. There is be a success message when each document is successfully uploaded.

   Note: currently Footprint cannot accept PDFs. Accepted formats include jpg/jpeg, png, and heic

4. Select Continue.

5. Take a selfie using the webcam on your computer or from your phone. If you do not have access to a phone OR a webcam, you will be asked to upload a selfie. Select Continue on the selfie success notice, or follow the instructions if there are any errors.
